Strata Modul Launches “Re/Verse,” “Standing Waves,” and “Nogaku” — A Trilogy of Recurring Capsule Events Across Poetry, Sound, and Performance

by Lena Vasile on March 25, 2026

Designed as distinct yet interrelated series, each program operates within a specific artistic language while contributing to a broader sensory and conceptual journey. The initiative reflects Strata Modul’s commitment to interdisciplinary practice, positioning performance not as an adjunct to exhibition-making, but as a core curatorial medium.

Re/Verse focuses on the performative dimensions of language. Each edition is structured around a central theme derived from the gallery’s curatorial program, bringing together poets and writers to present a sequence of live readings. Through voice, rhythm, and textual composition, Re/Verse transforms poetry into a spatial and collective experience, where language unfolds in dialogue with the surrounding artistic context.

Standing Waves engages the material and perceptual properties of sound. The series invites musicians and sound artists to construct environments that oscillate between composition and experimentation, often incorporating spatial audio, analog and digital synthesis, and site-responsive interventions. Each event explores sound as both structure and atmosphere—an invisible architecture that shapes perception and emotion in real time.

Nogaku draws from the traditions of theatre and dance, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The series emphasizes gesture, presence, and temporality, presenting performances that range from minimal and meditative to dynamic and physically charged. By foregrounding the body as a medium of meaning, Nogaku creates a space where narrative dissolves into movement and ritual.

Together, these three programs form a continuous cycle of encounters—an evolving ecosystem of voices, frequencies, and gestures. Audiences are invited not simply to attend, but to move through a sequence of experiences that recalibrate attention and perception.

“By bringing together poetry, sound, and performance under a single conceptual umbrella, we are constructing a living program that unfolds over time,” said Lena Vasile, Gallerist. “Each series retains its own identity, yet all three operate in resonance—offering different entry points into a shared investigation of form, presence, and meaning.”

The inaugural editions of Re/Verse, Standing Waves, and Nogaku will be announced in the coming weeks, forming an integral part of Strata Modul’s public program.
