Bogdan Matei
by Bogdan MateiBogdan Matei (b. 1995) is a visual artist and assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timisoara. His practice is based on the relationship between art and technology, questioning this flow: In a world of virtuality and extension of the body through the device, what role does the art object play? Artificial intelligence may be engaged in the realization of new expressiveness, but for whom and why? Do we need perspectives? How and why do we establish them?
His works have been presented in different contexts and institutions such as Kunsthalle Bega Timișoara, Bucharest Biennale 10, MNAC Bucharest, La Gaîté Lyrique Paris, ICR Roma, ArtEncounters Foundation Timisoara and others. He has been part of several conferences or seminars at institutions such as Beira Interior University in Portugal; University of Arts and Design in Cluj, Romania; University of Turin, Italy; and Middlesex University in London, UK.
