Arantxa Etcheverria

Arantxa Etcheverria (b. 1975, France) is a French artist who lives and works between Bucharest and France. She studied visual arts at the Villa Arson in Nice and scenography at the National Theater in Strasbourg, France. In 2013, she started to develop an artistic practice related to the modernist architecture of her studio in Bucharest. Whether it is collage, installation, performance, photo, or video montage, her works are the result of a meticulous analysis of the geometry of space. Suprematist or Constructivist influences are felt in her practice, resulting from meditative reflection.

The artist has had solo exhibitions at Victoria Art Center Bucharest, Atelier 35, Bucharest, Creart Gallery and Sector 1 Gallery, Bucharest, Center of Interest, Cluj-Napoca, Baril Gallery, Cluj-Napoca. Her works have been part of numerous group exhibitions, including at the National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest, Bucharest Museum of Recent Art, Art Encounters Biennial, Timisoara, Club Electro Putere, Craiova, Bucharest Contemporary Art Biennial, Media Art Festival, Arad, Art Safari Bucharest, Museo di Roma, Maison de l ‘International, Grenoble, Romanian Cultural Institute, Vienna and Benetton Foundation, Trieste.

Her works are part of the collection of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest and the collection of the Museum of Recent Art, Bucharest, as well as private collections in Romania and abroad.
