Love Lost, Bucharest

Event | May 20, 2022 by Vlad Radulescu

Over the six years spent collecting relics as testimonies of the dual process of love and loss, Love Lost, Miami has become known as the most heartfelt exhibition of Art Basel Week.

With the hope of bringing to light the love and loss stories that live within our own community, the global non-profit organization ARDEN I has partnered with one of the city’s most cutting-edge art spaces, STRATA, to bring the exhibition project to Bucharest.

Born out of our own curiosity, the exhibition is guided by a desire to invite the people of Bucharest into an honest conversation about the human experience of love and its traumatic aftermath.

Objects that might otherwise seem mundane become, through the stories attached to them, deeply moving artifacts that speak to each of our multi-sensory memories.

You will discover relics of unfinished stories and broken bridges, abandoned homes and missed opportunities, unspoken traumas and quiet resignation. Through them, lost love becomes more than a singular destination; it takes the shape of a communal mosaic, colored in shades of nostalgia, anger, confusion, sorrow, gratitude, and even humor.
