Eugen Rădescu is a social researcher, queer activist, and independent curator whose work explores the intersections of art, politics, queer strategies, and class conflict. As a writer and researcher, he focuses on contemporary art production, exhibition-making practices, and development theory.

A key figure in Romania’s cultural scene, Rădescu is the director of the Bucharest Biennale and a board member of apexart (NYC). He has delivered lectures at prestigious institutions worldwide, including apexart (New York), Badischer Kunstverein (Karlsruhe), Casa Encendida (Madrid), Paris Photo (Paris), Gulbenkian Centre (Lisbon), and Kunsthalle (Vienna). He is a professor at Bucharest University and Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj.

Beyond academia and curatorial work, Rădescu is also a creative force in Romanian nightlife, advocating for the creation of safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. He is the Creative Director of Strata Modul.

His publications include How Innocent Is That? (Revolver Books, Berlin, 2009), QUEER. Istorii ilustrate (Black Button Books, Bucharest, 2019), Feminism intersecțional (coordinated by Olivia Nițiș, KWEST, Berlin, 2021), and Sensitivities, Obsessions, Phobias and Their Intriguing Histories (edited by Daniela Zaharia, Bucharest University Publishing, 2024).
